Very glad to see the ship has a permanent home. I last saw her tied up by May's Shipyard in Staten Island. I hope to visit her in Key West this winter sometime and maybe I can help with some of the technical matters with my experience as Engineer on another antique former USCG vessel, the Calypso (WPC-104).

We would welcome your visit to the ship this winter and any technical assistance you can offer.

Glad to see that John Azari's dream (and my article)didn't go the way of the wreckers. Mohawk is one of the few cutters that did her sea trials by breaking ice on the Hudson River.

My father, John H. Porter, served as a CPO aboard the cutter from 1942-1943
